DOSSIER

What this entry covers

A solitary Explorer descends through vast subterranean cavern networks and channels coloured light through giant gems to unlock abilities: phasing through solid walls, smashing boulders, and triggering long-distance teleports. At launch Thekla renamed this realm from The Promise to Vault of the Beamcasters, and the internal level names still use the promesst prefix.

PROTOCOL CHAIN

How to work this entry

01 STEP

Power the correct combination of beams at the same time. Single-beam routing gets you through the early caverns and stops working once abilities need to be held simultaneously.

02 STEP

Treat colour as a key, not as decoration. Each beam colour maps to one ability, and the puzzle is usually about which ability you can afford to hold.

03 STEP

Wall phasing is a commit. Do not phase into a space you have not scouted from the other side, because the return beam may not be reachable.

04 STEP

Watch distant environments. A beam you route here frequently opens a route in a chamber that is not on screen.
