DOSSIER

What this entry covers

The pairing that Thekla named directly in the realm announcement: the Explorer's coloured light beams combined with the Trader's magic mirrors. Reflection and light routing both apply at once, so a mirror can redirect a beam and a beam can grant the ability needed to reposition a mirror.

PROTOCOL CHAIN

How to work this entry

01 STEP

Decide whether the mirror is being used as a door or as an optic. The same object serves both roles and the intended solution usually needs only one of them.

02 STEP

Route the beam through the mirror, then swap. Doing it in the other order moves the mirror out of the beam path.

03 STEP

Watch for reflection of light rather than of the player. Some puzzles only need the beam to land somewhere new, not the character.

04 STEP

If you cannot hold the needed colour and still reach the mirror, the level wants a third element to do the holding for you.
